8th Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition (ETAC)

Estrella, LLC and George Washington University Law School announce their 8th edition of the Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition (ETAC) to be held on April 2 & 3, 2022, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“We are excited to be hosting an in-person competition again.  Last year’s virtual competition was a success, but there is no substitute for in-courtroom experience.  With this competition we help law students develop their litigation skills in a real courtroom scenario. We look forward to this year’s competition,” said Alberto G. Estrella, Managing Member of Estrella, LLC.

ETAC will begin on April 2nd with the preliminary rounds and the final rounds will take place on April 3rd, where the winner of the competition will be announced.

During the competition, students will have the opportunity to present evidence, conduct direct and cross-examinations, and argue their cases before a jury composed of judges. This event allows the students to put their law school training and knowledge to the test, by preparing and presenting a civil torts case before a panel of experienced trial attorneys. At the end of each session, the panel will provide feedback to the students to further the development their professional careers.

The prestigious 14 law schools participating in ETAC this year are: American University Washington College of Law, William & Mary Law School, Brooklyn Law School, Campbell University School of Law, Emory Law School, Fordham University School of Law, Georgetown University Law Center, Howard University School of Law, Louisiana State University Law Center, Stetson University College of Law, University of California, Hastings School of Law, University of Colorado Law School, University of Michigan Law School, University of Pennsylvania Law School, University of Virginia Law School and Pace Law School.
