Vanessa serves as Of Counsel at Estrella LLC, bringing over 15 years of experience in intellectual property, federal litigation, privacy, and data protection law, with additional depth in fashion, art, and entertainment law. She brings a unique blend of creative, legal, and business expertise to help clients safeguard their creative and commercial assets while navigating complex legal challenges and maximizing the value of their intellectual property.

Vanessa focuses her practice on intellectual property protection and strategy, regularly advising clients on trademark prosecution, copyright protection, and portfolio management to help companies protect their innovations, creative works, and competitive advantage. She also counsels clients on potential IP claims and enforcement options and works closely with companies on the IP aspects of mergers and acquisitions, ensuring that critical intangible assets are properly identified, valued, and protected. Clients in the creative industries turn to her for guidance in fashion, art, and entertainment law, where she helps designers, artists, and content creators protect, commercialize, and expand the value of their work.

Vanessa also regularly represents clients in a broad range of federal litigation matters, including intellectual property, commercial, and privacy and data protection disputes. She brings significant strength to the firm’s federal practice, leveraging her experience before the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico where she clerked for Hon. Juan M. Pérez-Giménez, Hon. Silvia M. Carreño-Coll, and Hon. Héctor Ramos to help clients navigate federal proceedings with confidence. Her deep understanding of court procedures and judicial expectations allows her to guide clients strategically through every stage of litigation, from early case assessment to trial and appeal. Companies also rely on Vanessa as trusted local counsel in Puerto Rico for high-stakes federal matters, benefiting from her first-hand insight into the court and its processes.

Beyond her legal practice, Vanessa is the cofounder of Genmoji, a research and development company focused on renewable technologies, and PS Documenta, a content development firm. Her work as a cofounder has given her valuable experience in energy and commercial contracts, providing practical insight into projects involving technology, innovation, and sustainability.

She has taught Ethics and Law in Digital Media at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón where she designed and authored the course curriculum and served as a faculty member at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.
