Once again the attorneys at Estrella, LLC are at the forefront of litigation and trial advocacy. This time, Puerto Rico Trial Skills Program Director and Faculty for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (“NITA”), firm Member Ken Suria, was invited to teach at its prestigious D.C. Advanced Advocates Program for experienced trial lawyers. The Program took place in the Nation’s capital during the week of November 4-9, 2014.

The Advanced Advocacy Program is specifically designed for practitioners with trial experience. It stresses working together in trial teams alongside experienced NITA trial lawyers and jury consultants from across the country. It is designed teach important strategies in jury selection, help identify the problems associated with the case, solve those problems through sophisticated case analysis, and develop a plan of action for trial using the fruits of that analysis. It also compels the participants to prepare and perform opening statements, direct/cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses (including actual forensic economic witnesses) and closing arguments

Ken had the opportunity to meet with students alongside his peers and communications consultants for customized, individual critiques of your numerous live and videotaped performances

At the end, the participants conducted a full jury trial where upon conclusion, they had a chance to debrief with the jurors and also speak to the faculty for additional encouragement. We are proud to say that Ken was invited to return next year to collaborate with a new batch of seasoned practitioners.
