UPR Mayaguez wins Enactus National Competition
The University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, won the 8th annual National Competition of Enactus Puerto Rico and will represent Puerto Rico in the World Cup to be held in Beijing, China, on October 22-24, 2014. A total of 12 local colleges and universities presented a series of projects geared at developing community based entrepreneurial initiatives. The winner was selected by a group of judges comprised of some of the Island’s business leaders, including members of our firm and clients. Enactus Puerto Rico is the local chapter of Enactus, a non-profit organization with presence in over 30 countries that brings together student, academic and business leaders who are committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. Estrella, LLC is a charter member of Enactus’ Puerto Rico Board of Directors. We thank the support by several of our clients including Walmart, Home Depot and Puma who acted as judges during the event.
