Alberto Estrella Appointed to the Guayacán Endowment Fund Board of Trustees
March 2018 – We are pleased to announce that the firm’s Managing Partner, Alberto Estrella, was recently appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Guayacán Endowment Fund, a charitable trust in benefit of Grupo Guayacán, one of Puerto Rico’s leading entrepreneurial development organizations.
The Trust, which was launched in September 2016 commemorating Guayacán’s 20th anniversary, allows donors the opportunity to support the long-term sustainability of the organization’s entrepreneurial development programs. Through the Endowment, supporters may contribute directly to Puerto Rico’s economic recovery by helping advance Guayacán’s mission of strengthening entrepreneurship and private equity as drivers of sustainable economic development. To date, through donations from more than 30 corporate partners and individual sponsors, Guayacán has raised over $1.8M towards its $5M goal.
The appointment represents the formalization of Alberto’s collaboration with Grupo Guayacán and is in keeping with the firm’s longstanding tradition of community engagement in support of local nonprofit organizations.
Alberto joins fellow Trustees Laura Cantero, Executive Director of Grupo Guayacán; Francisco Uriarte of ESP Group; Manuel Calderón from V2A Consulting; Gregory Kaufman from Popular Securities; Samuel Céspedes from McConnell Valdés; and Ricardo Fernández from Puerto Rico Farm Credit.
